When It Comes to Online Casinos, Never Say Never – The Possible Future of Online Casinos

Posted by wp 23 June, 2008

Recently, there have been some rumors about legalizing online casinos in the US so the impossible may find it’s way to become possible. Up to now, there has been a very strict policy against online casinos. People are even not allowed to play online casino games on the Internet if they are placed in the United States. But the tendency is changing. There have been some changes made that may allow online casinos to operate out of the US in the future. There were suggestions  to run online casinos out of North Dakota which were thoroughly eyed by the online gambling industry. The conservative lobby in the US has been generating huge pressure on the government to keep online casinos illegal but there may come a day when the pressure is to high. What puzzles me most is the fact that land based casinos are free to operate in almost every state in the US. Why online gambling is outlawed whereas gambling at standard casinos is legal? The only difference between these two forms of gambling is mediation of the Internet as it comes to online casinos. Some of the opponents claim that the ability to gamble at home is too tempting. But there are lots of other things on the Internet that we can spend our money on. One of the main aims of the Internet is to provide customers with convenience. We are able to transfer our money without going out, buy everything we need and it’s all possible thanks to the Internet. Why such good entertainment like playing online casino games should be banned? Maybe the time has come to rethink this conservative ruling and develop a law that is more appropriately geared towards the internet.
